Visit the Town Mill

Experience some Lyme Regis history at The Town Mill—a fully operational flour mill found in the cobbled courtyard of the artisan quarter. Dating back to 1340, the ancient watermill was returned to working order by local volunteers through a ten-year restoration project.

As well the Mill, the area is home to a variety of other establishments nestled within the restored buildings, including an art gallery, restaurant, silversmith, pottery, seaweed art studio, design agency, pilates studio, and micro-brewery! Admission to view the mill and waterwheel is free, although donations are appreciated!

Visit the Lyme Regis Museum

We’d heartily recommend visiting Lyme Regis Museum to uncover the town's rich heritage and fascinating fossil displays. Discover the range of exhibits that showcase the area's marine life, geological formations, and historical artefacts. And of course, there’s plenty to learn about the significant contributions Lyme Regis has made to the field of palaeontology.

Go fossil hunting

Embark on an exciting fossil-hunting adventure along Lyme Regis' fossil-rich beaches. Join guided fossil walks led by knowledgeable experts who will help you find ammonites, belemnites, and other ancient relics.
