Wedding Ideas at the Alexandra for 2019

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful setting for weddings here at the Alexandra.. sweeping lawns, fabulous sea and coastal views, our Deck which overlooks Lyme’s famous Cobb harbour (voted as one of England’s most romantic places and the perfect backdrop for those photos!) and four different rooms to hold events, providing the choice and variety to suit your every need.

Aside from its unique location, the Alexandra offers attentive service with passionate people who really care that you, your family and friends have a truly special and memorable time. Whether it’s Champagne and canapés on the lawn, a finger buffet in the Orangery or a full sit down wedding breakfast prepared by Chef and his team, using the wealth of local produce the West Country has to offer, we will do our utmost to create a day that’s perfect for you.

We are licensed for civil ceremonies in the following room:

The Alexandra Restaurant, think ballroom elegance, white linen, silverware and crystal.
The Old 18th Century Chapel, a beautifully candle-lit room for a perfect atmospheric wedding.
The Orangery, which has a light romantic feel.
The Lookout Tower in the garden; this is a very special, intimate place and if you’re looking for something completely different…. this is it!

And it’s not just the ceremony and Wedding Breakfast that we have covered. As the bride, why not stay on the eve of your wedding in our beautiful bay window Gould Room or, for the ultimate in luxury, the Countess’ Room? Maybe enjoy a relaxing aromatherapy massage before bedtime and wake to breakfast brought to your room. Both hairdresser and beautician arrive to visit you in the comfort of your room, whilst we liaise closely with you until the final moment when you are ready to be escorted to the ceremony room.

So whether you are looking for bohemian style with some Boho chic, vintage, rustic style, alternative style or a traditional wedding, we have it covered. If you’ve dreamed about having a coastal wedding, here at the Alexandra is where your dreams can come true!
